Australia vs Pakistan 2nd T20 Preview – 7th September

Australia will be extremely disappointed with their efforts in the 1st T20 as Pakistan smashed them but they will hope for things to change in the 2nd T20. Spin will be a key factor in Dubai so Australia may play the veteran Brad Hogg to add some more dimension to their bowling attack. Pakistan were flawless in the 1st T20 but really haven’t been challenged when they have been batting. Australia really need to post a good score because if they don’t they will be low on confidence for the upcoming T20 World Cup.

Match Information :

August 7, Dubai
Starting Time: 2000 Local Time (1600 GMT Time)

Key Contest:

Saeed Ajmal vs Michael Hussey

Saeed Ajmal should have a really good time in Dubai if he is on target since the pitch is spin friendly. Michael Hussey is Australia’s best player of spin in this T20 squad and he will have a big part to take in the match as he will need to hog the strike quite a bit. Hussey was out cheaply in the 1st T20 and he won’t want to do that again and he will possibly want to set up a contest between Ajmal because he is so dangerous. Ajmal, the 34 year old has exploded out of no where and has a fantastic record in the T20’s keeping the score down so Hussey may have to come down the track to hit him over cow’s corner a few times risking his wicket.

Team News:

After a real poor showing from Australia in the 1st T20 they might make a few changes. Brad Hogg is a possibility to participate since the Dubai pitch is well suited to the spinners.

Pakistan were flawless in the 1st T20 and they shouldn’t make any changes to the XI that flogged Australia.
