Australia don’t value the T20 format as much as India as they rest a lot of key players to let those performing in the Big Bash play for their nation. India will look almost entirely different in the T20 as they show off the youth and talent of their T20 stars in the IPL. India are a team in the world at the moment that would like to forget the last six weeks but there is no better format then the T20 to try and turn around their form. India will have to bowl better in the T20′s to pick up wickets at crucial times as this Australian batting order is full of big clean hitters of the ball.
Praveen Kumar returns in the International arena after a injury lay-off trying to gain fitness for this important tour. India have been bowling without plan and preparation in the tests but his experience will bring a lot to the youthful team and he will be key in the early overs to dismiss the dangerous David Warner. David Warner is arguably the most entertaining batsman along with Gayle at the moment and he can have a big influence if he can get a start in this match. A start will signal danger for India who do look vulnerable when nothing much is happening for them. The fielding will prove crucial and these two teams are filled with athletic fielders and every stop and catch will count in this short format. The venue this 1st T20 will be played at is making its international debut and is likely to have pace and bounce.
Shaun Marsh should play in the XI despite being axed from the ODI squad and he should open with David Warner which has the potential to be very exciting. George Bailey will captain and will have fellow Tasmanian player Travis Birt in the squad. James Faulkner is expected to get a game in Sydney with some impressive bowling in the Big bash while their is a spinner spot available for either Brad Hogg or Xavier Doherty.
