South Africa have named their 15 man party for the ODI’s being played against England after a highly successful test series. The 15 man squad has quite a few surprises with players who haven’t played for South Africa since 2010. Jacques Kallis has been rested for the ODI’s which could indicate that Kallis is playing in the T20 World Cup in September. Dean Elgar, a uncapped allrounder who looks likes a solid batsmen with the ability to take the odd wicket will replace Kallis in the squad.
Imran Tahir has been the mystery of South African cricket since he has not played a ODI since the 2011 World Cup where he was successful and troubled many batsmen. The leg spinner will make an appearance in the squad and will be looking to work his way up. Ryan Mclaren hasn’t played for his country since 2010 but now has recovered from a side strain.
Wayne Parnell, who has tested positive for drugs during the IPL has still been named by the South African selectors despite the controversy after a rave party in India. Parnell, du Plessis, Ontong, Elgar and Mclaren are currently with the South African A squad and will join up with the rest of the squad when they finish their duties there.
