Bangalore have had a few days rest watching the other games in this tournament. There has been plenty of excitement in this years Champions League with majority of matches so far coming down to the nail biting finish in the last over. Bangalore are fond of losing in the last over of the match but even worse on the last ball of the match against the Warriors in the CLT20 opener. Everything was good from Bangalore in that match; plenty of partnerships were built and wickets were flowing but Prince and Botha were two players they could not dismiss. Chris Gayle showed early fireworks to get the tournament kicking and he will be even more important due to De Villiers being ruled out with injury. Aravind, Nannes and Vettori bowled particularly well in the narrow defeat and will be a handful for the Kolkata batsman. The fielding did let them down so that must improve especially in a format like T20's but currently they are placed in 4th and a win could let them jump to 2nd or 3rd.
Kolkata have had many mixed results as they breezed through the qualifiers but now are struggling to get a win following losses to South Australia and Somerset. Bangalore is a much more stronger outfit than Somerset and Kolkata will have to play to the best of their ability but Kolkata and Bangalore have had some history in the past few months but both games these two teams played in the IPL went in favour of Bangalore. It is time to get some revenge on Bangalore but one task that Kolkata must achieve is to dismiss Gayle early as this is their last chance to reach the finals unless other results go their way. The major problem for Kolkata is the bowling since it is failing to keep the run rate low and that is putting pressure on the batsman to chase mammoth totals and are just missing out. Brett Lee leads this attack but he has had 1 good game and 1 bad game and he must turn things around for the positive but also Iqbal Abdulla and Shakib Al Hasan will play key roles in containing the Bangalore big hitters like Gayle, Dilshan and S Tiwary.
