As South Africa lead by 63 runs in the 2nd innings on day 5 of the 2nd Test three South African players have been carrying injuries over the duration of the match. The main concern for the Proteas is that star all-rounder Jacques Kallis is one of those players carrying an injury. Graeme Smith who is currently 26 not out and Alviro Peterson are the other two injured currently but yet still playing.
Jacques Kalli’s back spasms has been seen as the main concern for South Africa and they see Smith’s knee and Peterson’s hamstring strain less important. Kallis was the only one of those three not to field yesterday and will not bowl but will bat if he has to. Kallis has had a series of back spasms over his 17 year career and the medical staff know how to treat him to be fit as soon as possible.
