South Africa vs Pakistan 1st ODI Preview
South Africa won the test series, Pakistan won the T20 series and now to conclude the series both teams will battle to win the one-day series in South Africa. South Africa will welcome back some experience but the telling factor of this series could be how they bowl in the absence of key players. Pakistan need to take advantage of the weakened bowling attack and Nasir Jamshed's contribution will be key. Kyle Abbott has made his debut in all three formats in three weeks as of tomorrow and he has already lived up to expectation with some fantastic bowling but only time will tell if he can keep it up.

Nasir Jamshed vs Kyle Abbott
Neither Nasir Jamshed or Kyle Abbott carry high reputations in their national teams as match winners but their contributions always seem to have a large effect on their team. Jamshed struggled during the tests against South Africa but he is back playing in his favourite format of the game where he has had a lot of his success after averaging 50.26. The 25 year old Abbott has already done well for the national team and seems destined to make his one-day debut, he made short work of the Pakistan batsman during the test series where he took 9 wickets in one match and will hope to have the same influence in the ODI series.
The return of the experienced Graeme Smith and Hashim Amla will add to Pakistan's woes Neither Morne Morkel or Dale Steyn are expected to play the 1st ODI which would mean Kyle Abbott would get his ODI debut on Sunday.
South Africa: (probable) 1 Graeme Smith 2 Hashim Amla 3 Colin Ingram, 4 AB de Villiers (capt & wk), 5 Faf du Plessis, 6 Farhaan Behardien/David Miller, 7 Ryan McLaren 8 Robin Peterson 9 Rory Kleinveldt, 10 Kyle Abbott, 11 Lonwabo Tsotsobe
Umar Akmal will most likely be the unlucky player to miss out in Pakistan's batting order. Shahid Afridi will bat at 7 and his bowling could be useful. Saeed Ajmal will be supported by Umar Gul, Junaid Khan and Mohammad Irfan.
Pakistan: (probable) 1 Nasir Jamshed, 2 Mohammed Hafeez, 3 Younis Khan, 4 Misbah-ul-Haq (capt), 5 Shoaib Malik, 6 Kamran Akmal (wk), 7 Shahid Afridi, 8 Umar Gul, 9 Saeed Ajmal 10 Junaid Khan, 11 Mohammed Irfan
