Players might be a little tired and drained from Uthura since they have to back up the following day after playing Kandurata in which they lost which means they sit on the bottom of the ladder. Uva Next are mid table and a win at the Pallekele would boost their ranking and would ease any pressure on winning matches later in the tournament. Upul Tharanga’s earlier 65 looked very dangerous and the opposition will have to counter any possibilities of Tharanga getting away. The newly improved bowling attack for Uthura might win them this match with Rana Naved Hasan a key player.

Rana Naved-ul Hasan vs Upul Tharanga
Rana Naved-ul-Hasan and Upul Tharanga are basically rivals, one from Pakistan and the other from Sri Lanka now they are in seperate T20 teams. Naved Ul Hasan got his first game of the tournament and and didn’t do too badly picking up a wicket just under 9 runs per over. Upul Tharanga needs to step up and take charge, he has made 70 runs in the tournament but at a strike rate of 107.69 it doesn’t look too great. If he is struggling now he will have to play a blinder since Rana Naved-ul-Hasan is very good in the T20’s at deceiving batsmen.
Umar Gul has been very expensive all tournament going for 10 an over and having taken only 3 wickets, Andrew Mcdonald might be a suitable replacement as he is economical and can bat which is something Uva Next need. Shiv Chanderpaul is not a T20 batsman and should get replaced by either James Franklin or Fawad Alam.
The bowling attack was much improved against Kandurate but now it seems the opening overseas spot is an uncertainty at this stage. Imran Farhat, Rob Quiney, David Miller and Callum Ferguson want that final batsman spot and its hard to pick which one will get called up for Match 11.
