4th Match: Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Rajasthan Royals at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad, April 09 -2018, Cricket Highlights.
It was a dominating performance by the IPL 2016 champions, Sunrisers Hyderabad, as they crushed Rajasthan Royals, in their comeback game, by 9 wickets.
The victory was set up by the SRH bowlers, who were simply brilliant with the ball in the hands. Despite conceding 48 runs in the powerplay, they came back strongly and picked up wickets at regular intervals to stem the flow of runs. Except for Sanju Samson, who played a fine innings of 49, no other RR batsmen really got going.
Shakib Al Hasan and Siddharth Kaul were the pick of the bowlers for SRH. While the former picked up two crucial wickets, that of Samson and Tripathi, in one over, the latter bowled with good speed and also picked up a couple of wickets for just 17 runs. As a result of the fine bowling effort, Rajasthan Royals could only manage to score 125 in their 20 overs.
The target was not a difficult one and the SRH batsmen made a mockery of it, chasing the runs down in just 15.5 overs. Their start could have been disastrous, had Ajinkya Rahane hold on to Shikhar Dhawan’s catch in the first over. But the RR skipper dropped a dolly in the slips and gave Dhawan a reprieve when he was on nought.
The dropped catch proved to be very costly for the Royals, as Dhawan played a match-winning knock of 77 and alongside his skipper, Williamson (36*), guided his team to victory.
