Sydney Thunder "Scorched" Badly by Perth

Sydney Sixers now know how it feels to be "scorched by the sun", as Perth Scorchers branded their names across the backs of their opponents, earning their place at the top of the Big Bash League table. This feat was accomplished in the 13th match of the BBL, and featured consistent batting by Perth, coupled perfectly with a consistently strong bowling attack, emphasizing the depth of the Scorchers' repository.

Michael Klinger, top-scorer Ian Bell, and Mitchell Marsh were front and centre with their confident batting performances for the Scorchers, as they produced 38, 45 and 44 runs respectively, setting the pace for a dominating overall performance by their team, and crippling any efforts launched against them by the bowling force of the Sixers.

On the side of the Perth bowling, David Willey was in full form, as he claimed two of the opening wickets. He received strong support from Andrew Tye, Ashton Turner, Mitchell Marsh and the other "scorching" bowling attack.

It does appear, based on today's performance and those previous by the Scorchers, that they are set to continue their dominance of the BBL, and are favourites for the title. Their current order is stable and packed with unmistakable depth. This double dose should have the other teams on pins and needles in preparation for the final.
