West Indies vs England 2nd ODI Preview

West Indies vs England

The West Indies won the opener in Antigua on Friday but it was far from convincing. Darren Sammy was the West Indies' hero after he scored 61 off 36 and took 1 for 46. The West Indies batting order looks quite thin without Samuels, Pollard and Gayle which means England have to bowl well or else they will give the West Indies every chance to win this series. England need more from Luke Wright who is batting at three because he can easily take a game away from a team but has failed to score runs in International cricket of late. The West Indies are also having major batting issues and Dwayne Smith is one player who can make the most of the opportunity at the top of the order.

Match Information :

March 2, Antigua
Starting Time: 0930 Local Time (1330 GMT Time)

Team News:

The West Indies should go unchanged after winning the opener in Antigua but would be tempted to select Nikita Miller after seeing England's problems against Narine.

West Indies (possible) 1 Dwayne Smith, 2 Kieron Powell, 3 Kirk Edwards, 4 Darren Bravo, 5 Lendl Simmons, 6 Dwayne Bravo (capt), 7 Darren Sammy, 8 Denesh Ramdin (wk), 9 Sunil Narine, 10 Ravi Rampaul, 11 Jason Holder.

Eoin Morgan and Alex Hales will be given as much time as possible to ensure they are 100% fit with the Twenty20 World Cup around the corner. Moeen Ali, Michael Lumb and Luke Wright should continue to make up an inexperienced top order for England.

England (possible) 1 Moeen Ali, 2 Michael Lumb, 3 Luke Wright, 4 Ben Stokes, 5 Joe Root, 6 Ravi Bopara, 7 Jos Buttler (wk), 8 Tim Bresnan, 9 Stuart Broad (capt), 10 Chris Jordan, 11 James Tredwell
